Vickie Fernandez is an award winning writer and alumna of Ariel Gore’s Literary Kitchen. Her stories have appeared in a number of publications you've probably never heard of but should check out.
She was the recipient of the 2011 Judith Stark award for non-fiction and a finalist in Hunger Mountain’s 2010 competition for creative non-fiction. When she's not working on her memoir and wrangling new unruly tales into submission you can find her performing her stories in dive bars, well-lit coffee houses and improv theaters all over Philadelphia.
She hopes to someday move to Mexico and live in a brightly colored house with plenty of room for her pet monkeys, Frida Kahlo shrines and disproportionate collection of cowboy boots.
